- LEDSON MOTORSPORTS ANNOUNCES 2012 SCHEDULE
"Team drivers Nicholas and Cole Ledson to contest BSRKC and SKC with Nicholas also moving to Legends"
After a successful 2011 karting season, Ledson Motorsports is excited to announce plans for 2012. Team drivers Nicholas and Cole both had breakout years in their respective classes, as Nicholas earned the Rotax/TaG Junior Championship title in the Brian Stewart Racing Karting Championship and younger brother Cole scored his first Ontario Grand National Bear trophy at the prestigious Shannonville event. Heading into the 2012 season, both Ledson team members will look to carry their momentum and continue to fight for victories and titles.
Making the jump to the challenging senior ranks, Nicholas is set to contest the Senior Lite category in the Simcoe Kart Club. After earning the Most Wins and Most Poles awards from his 2011 junior campaign with the club, Nicholas is poised to return as a top contender despite his senior rookie status. Also taking on three classes in regional action in the Brian Stewart Racing Karting Championship, Nicholas will look to have a strong rookie run in: Senior Lite, Senior Medium and TaG Senior. As the 2011 titleholder in the Rotax/TaG Junior category, Nicholas will look to carry his strong junior results as he takes on the higher horse-powered level.
Cole will take on the Junior Lite class in the 2012 Simcoe Kart Club schedule, and will be a threat for the overall title after being honored with the 2011 Junior Sportsman award, based off his eight top-fives and 12 top-tens in his 2011 campaign. Also contesting two classes in the Brian Stewart series, Cole will look to improve upon his fourth place championship run in 2011 in Junior Lite, and will also be a title contender in the Junior Medium category.
Adding to the excitement of a new season ahead, Ledson Motorsports is also pleased to announce the addition of a Legends car to their operation. The elder Ledson brother, Nicholas, will run a limited, ten-race schedule in the Ontario Legends series. Reaching speeds of 200 km/h, Nicholas will put his skills to the test as he makes his first step out of karting and into the challenging and competitive Legends series.
Ledson Motorsports will kick off their 2012 campaign at the Simcoe Kart Club Race #1 May 6 at 3S Go Karts in Sutton, Ontario. Brian Stewart action follows with Round #1 set for May 19-21 at the same 3S facility. Nicholas's limited Legends schedule will begin with the second round of the Ontario schedule, May 26 in Barrie, Ontario.
